What is polynomial?

Pre-Requisites:

Basic knowledge of polynomials

Activity:

Draw a graph for a polynomial of order 2, observe that the values of x for which y becomes 0 are the zeros of polynomial.

Real Life Question:

Initially productivity of cloth at a factory is 9 units; it decreases with square of years from now. Write down the productivity each year in polynomial form and zero of the polynomial (when does the productivity becomes 0)

Key Words / FlashCards
Key Words Definitions (pref. in our own words)
Polynomial Polynomial is an expression made up of variables, exponents and coefficients.
Learning aids / Gadgets
Gadgets How it can be used
Zero of polynomial Write down polynomials (2nd order) and find out zeros of the polynomial.
Real life uses :

The variation in variables are shown in the form of polynomials.

Practical examples around us
Examples Explainations
A bad day in a stock market, at present it is 1100 points and is reducing by 100*time (hr) from present. In how many hours it will reach 300 points. 1100-100*x3=900 ?100* x3=800 ? x3=8; X=2hrs from now.
