Atomic Number And Mass Number
Chapter Name : Structure Of The Atom
Sub Topic Code : 102_09_04_05_01
Topic Name : Atomic Number And Mass Number
Sub Topic Name : Atomic Number
Introduction

·         Every atom has protons.

·         Atomic number = total number of protons in the nucleus.

·         It is denoted by 'Z'

·         On the basis of Z only, atoms are identified. e.g. If z=1 of an atom, it is Hydrogen.

·         If an atom has no charge, or it is neutral, then, Atomic number =  the number of electrons.
