Sub Topic Name : Applying Identities |
The standard identities can suitably be used for solving many complicated algebraic expressions in a simpler way.
Algebraic Expressions, Terms, coefficients, variables
Take a booklet. Try to play with identities by replacing them with negative sign. Initially, do it for just one of the variables. Next, go for the other variables as well. See what you get. Are these applicable in general to all the values?
If one had to solve large engineering problems like that of manufacturing heavy machinery parts conventionally, then it would be very very difficult.
Key Words | Definitions (pref. in our own words) |
---|---|
Identity | An equation that is universal & true for all the values (in this case-Real numbers) |
Gadgets | How it can be used |
---|
For finding out squares of large 5 digit numbers, these standard identities are very useful
Examples | Explainations |

Studying Tiny particles | When studying tiny particles (like atoms), the resultant function of their behavior will be mostly algebraic expressions |
(a+b)(a+b) = (a+b)2 = a2 + b2 + 2ab, (a-b)(a-b) = (a-b)2 = a2 + b2 -2ab, (a+b)(a-b) = a2 – b2 , How to apply these identities in large, complicated problems
The standard identities will be true for all the values.
This alert box could indicate a successful or positive action.
